The Oberlanders
The Zorconians placed observers on distant planets. On the medieval world Sol #3, their observer was Marie Gottmothercus, a junior planetary anthropologist from Zorcon University. Marie was on her first assignment. Sometimes she ignored the rules and used her wand to help the locals. In Oberland Kingdom she became known as the Fairy Godmother.
The Zorconians thought that they could do whatever they wanted with Sol #3. They never considered that the Elders might have their own plans, or what could happen when Zorcon technology met Old Elder Magic.

The Sendroids
The Guardians of the Multiverse had overseen the creation of countless universes, but Cinderwan’s new universe was an experiment. She had brought the troubled planet Zorcon with her into the new universe. The Zorconians had only known lives of excess. They would not make good Elders.
Cinderwan proposed to train androids to become the Elders of the new universe. The androids would need to foster life. Some of the androids had been altered by Coyote and were starting to experience life. They wanted to know what was in it for them.
